Speed limiter “NC 80” is the result of completely in-house development from the idea to productionbythecompany “Skylark Automotive”. The start of serial production was in 2012. During the development process,a huge number of tests were carried out directly on vehicles of various types, brands, modelsandmanufacturers. This approach provides the “NC80” limiter with universality in use and reliabilityinoperation.

Technical Description of the
Speed Limiting Device (SLD) Model "NC80"

Advantages of the speed limiting device model "NC80"

  1. Extremely reliable, has a long service life.
  2. Easy to integrate into a vehicle.
  3. Universal – one type for all types of wheeled vehicles.
  4. Includes the maximum amount of useful functionality and features.

Specification:
SLD NC80 uses a modern 32-bit micro controller from T Microelectronics, based on the Cortex-M3 core from ARM. Main features of the micro controller are:

  • Internal core frequency – 72 MHz.
  • Program memory capacity – 128 KB.
  • RAM capacity – 64 KB.
  • Two analog discrete inputs so that external devices can control the SLD NC80.
  • Two analog discrete outputs so that the SLD NC80 can control external devices.
  • RS232 port for integration with external devices (open protocol), made in the form of an expansion board.
  • Built-in sound alarm. – Built-in accelerometer.
  • Stepper motor control cascade.
  • Adjustable speed signal input (meander, sine wave).
  • Built-in CAN controller.
  • Parameters are configured via a separately supplied adapter to a personal computer and dedicated software.
  • Power consumption 2.5 W
  • DC voltage 9.6 – 28 V
  • Supply current 11 mA at 28 V
  • Operating temperature from -45 to + 60˚С
  • Maximum input current 1.5 A
  • Protection class IP55
  • Overall dimensions 120x100x46 mm
  • Weight 0.1 kg
SLD NC80 compilable with 11 types of accelerator pedals, including those that use a signal type such as PWM* (pulse-width modulation), while simultaneously being a type of DBW (Drive by Wire) and DBV(Drive by Valve) devices for Diesel Vehicles with mechanical accelerometer pedal. SLD NC80 operates from the vehicle’s on-board network from 10 to 30 volts and has complete electromagnetic compatibility with the vehicle’s electronic equipment. SLD NC80 is able to receive SPEED SIGNAL from any type of speed sensor, from an ABS sensor, from a gear box input shaft rotation sensor, from a vehicle’s CAN BUS line (configured when installing the device). SLD NC80 also operates properly when the driver uses cruise control on the vehicle. SLD NC80 informs with light and sound indicators about the approach of the vehicle’s speed limit value. It has a clear light indication of self-diagnosis (configured when installing the device). SLD NC80 has a “kick-down” function – it switches off when the accelerator pedal is pressed sharply “to the floor” (the option is activated when installing the device). The switch-off lasts 30 seconds, enough to complete the maneuver (for example, overtaking). SLD NC80 has a built-in CAN adapter/monitor, which allows you to activate the speed limiter based on any data (events) in the vehicle’s CAN line, from the seat belt and oil pressure light to exceeding the permissible cargo weight. SLD NC80 supports many vehicle speed limiting scenarios. SLD NC80 can shut off the vehicle’s engine after a set idling interval, warning the driver in advance.

*Mostly used in Mercedes and MAN made trucks.

Certification

SLD NC80 has a Type Approval Communication in accordance with UNECE Regulation No. 89as a “speed limitation device” No. 89R-0013031 and as an “adjustable speed limitation device” – No. 89R-00/03*3139*00, as well as in accordance with UN Regulation No. 10 Electromagnetic CompatibilityNo. 10R-06/01*3138*00.
